Unbuilt Gems: Cadillac Hotel

Searching through our archives we have come across some visionary gems that have never been built. These are some really fun projects that unfortunately never made it past the drawing boards but who know, we don't know what the future holds. I will be sharing some of these Visbeen designs at random so be sure to look out for them!

Cadillac Hotel
Urban centers everywhere are undergoing restoration. This particular corner of the south side of Chicago will receive a major makeover when the "Cadillac Hotel" goes up. Then the sign pays homage to the days when this building was one of the first Cadillac dealerships in the country, the structure itself puts a new twist on the traditional brick six-story. The sleek main floor windows double as sliding doors, opening the stores to the street. Steel cables hold glass-paned awnings over the sidewalk, while large, sectioned windows open the interior of this former warehouse to views on the windy city.

International Builders Show

We are excited to share that our home design Tupelo has made the cover of the International Builders Show program! In addition, Tupelo is being recognized as receiving the Best in American Living Gold Award for a Single Family Home, 3001-4000 sq ft.
With the help of Mike Schaap Builders, the design team from Benchmark Wood Studio and Debest Inc. Landscaping company, we can say that this amazing lakefront cottage is truly one-of-a-kind. Tupelo is located on the shores of Lake Michigan in South Haven, MI and offers panoramic views of the water. This four story beach front cottage has been artfully designed to accommodate large families or groups of friends.
Additional photos and information about Tupelo can be found at Pier View Cottages or contact Broker, Chad VanHorn of Real Estate Firm.

The StarTribune recently posted an article, Cabin Country: Escape from technology covering the basics of cabin living. The featured cabin is located in the southeast Minnesota hills that allows for a simpler way of living. Who says you need a second home to get away, a cabin is a great place for a family to pull out the board games and to have an opportunity to experience a different style of living away from the busy, connected, lives we all have.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the view of the simple to the simply amazing cabins designed by Visbeen Architects.

Michigan Blue Magazine: Winter 2012

The winter issue of Michigan Blue Magazine is out and oh what splendors of the season are gracing the cover!  Page four of this issue features our cozy cabin, the Shelburne, as the Lakestyle cottage, full of stone details and space for all the holiday family gatherings.  But if any of you are dragging your feet kicking and screaming into this coldest season, just flip your issue over to the back cover, where you will be transported into the gorgeous living room of our design, the Pinecliff, with expansive views of the beautiful sandy beach and white-capped waves of Lake Michigan.

Click here to take a pictorial tour of the Pinecliff and it's unique design solution to the common waterfront problem of a narrow lot.
